Alexandru Pogonat

Alexandru (Andu) Vasile Pogonat, age 75, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2025.

Funeral for Alexandru will be held on May 9th, with visitation from 9:30-11:30 at Serenity Funeral Home of North Lauderdale, followed by internment and Orthodox prayers at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Alexandru is survived by his wife, Joanna, daughter Teodora, and grand children Matthew and Gianna. Alexandru married Joanna Pogonat in 1972; they were married for 53 beautiful years.

He was born in Sighișoara, România, grew up in Iași, România, and immigrated to the US in 1977. After settling in Miami, FL, his wife and daughter followed to settle in the US with him in 1979. Alexandru worked as a Dental Technician, starting his business in the industry and retired in 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elena Cosman, brother Vladimir Pogonat, and father Ion Pogonat.
