Allene McCoy Shelton, 93, passed peacefully on August 19, 2020 in Deerfield Beach, FL at the home of her daughter, Patricia Boyd.
She was born December 4, 1926 to Joseph Pinkney McCoy and Violet Riggins McCoy of Bumpus Mills, TN. She graduated from Cadiz High School in Kentucky. Married in 1946 to Garnet Miles Shelton they resided primarily in Clarksville, TN. She worked as a Civilian Service clerk in the Supply Division at Fort Campbell, KY retiring at the age of 76.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet Miles Shelton; her brother JP McCoy Jr and her son, Nick McCoy Shelton.
Survivors include her children: Patricia Shelton Boyd of Deerfield Beach, FL, Larry Miles Shelton of Blackfoot, ID, and Anita Shelton Burns of Boca Raton, FL; her brother: Perry McCoy of Paris, TN; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19, a private memorial service will be held June 12, 2021 at Crow Cemetery, Bumpus Mills, Tennessee.
