With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Anita Merveille, who departed this life on June 24, 2025.
Anita was born on July 12, 1940, in Payant, Miragoâne, Haiti, and lived a life rooted in grace, wisdom, and devotion. A proud woman of catholic faith, she found strength in prayer and purpose in service to her family, her community, and her craft.
She was a gifted seamstress who studied haute couture in Port au Prince, Haiti, pursuing her love for fashion with elegance and discipline. Her work reflected her creativity, precision, and enduring sense of beauty.
But above all, Anita believed deeply in the power of education. She saw learning as a path to dignity, self-reliance, and opportunity, values she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She encouraged those around her to seek knowledge, stay curious, and never stop growing.
Anita’s life was quiet but powerful testament to the strength of women, the importance of faith, and the beauty of purpose. She nurtured her family with love, lifted them with wisdom, and led by the quiet example of a life well-lived.
She is survived by her loving son Guerrier Aluc (Carlo), her devoted daughter, Nadia Aluc; and her adored grandsons, Hansdey Simeon and Don-Jovani Aluc
