In Loving Memory of Celeste Moni Born in WWII-era Italy – Departed into God’s Embrace in 2025
Celeste was born in the heart of Italy during the turbulent years of World War II. Her early life, shaped by resilience and faith, would later become the foundation of the incredible woman she was known to be. In post-war Italy, she met, Luigi. Together, they pursued a dream of a better future and emigrated to the United States, settling in New Jersey alongside her beloved brother and sister.
With hard work and determination, Celeste and Luigi built a tailoring business from the ground up, all while raising three children: Marlene, Yvonne, and Robert. Her days were filled with devotion — to her family, her craft, and above all, to God.
While vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the family happened upon a home for sale with an established tailoring shop attached. To Celeste and Luigi, this was no coincidence — it was a clear blessing and divine direction. They followed that calling, moved their lives to Florida, and continued to build their business.
On December 26, 2001, Luigi passed away, and his earthly remains now rest within the very place they once called home — a sacred space filled with memories and love.
In her final days, Celeste was surrounded by the unwavering care of her children, who honored her wish to remain at home under hospice care. As her body grew weak from kidney failure, her spirit remained steadfast. On her fourth evening of hospice, her son and daughter read Scripture aloud and played gospel music at her bedside. Holding her hand as she rested, they dozed off for a moment — only to awaken to a serene stillness. Celeste had passed peacefully, without pain or fear, her eyes closed and her soul gently lifted into the arms of her Savior.
Celeste will be remembered as a woman of radiant joy — always smiling, always loving. Her forgiving heart, inner strength, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ were the hallmarks of her life. Even in suffering, she turned to God with honesty and trust. In one of her final moments, she asked, “Why must I endure this?” — and God, in His mercy, answered.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, fortitude, and unconditional love. Though she is no longer with us in body, Celeste’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
