Elizabeth J. Reilly completed her life journey of 99 years on September 26, 2025. She was born in May of 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Agnes and Alphonse Koenigsman and was eldest of five children: Ella, Agnes, Eugene and Joseph who provided her with many nieces and nephews.She moved to New York City, where she met her parents husband Thomas J Reilly working at Merrill Lynch and had five children: Steven, Beth, Katheryn, Jeanne and Thomas. “Betty” as most people knew her, bragged she had 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.Her funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, October 11,2025 at 9 am, and is located at 1400 State Rd. 7 N. Lauderdale, Florida. The burial will follow at the cemetery.Contributions can be made to Broward Community College where she received her Associate degree with honors or at Florida Atlantic University, where she received her Bachelor degree in English literature at age 89, in honor of her, in lieu of flowers.Let us remember the past with gratitude, live the present with enthusiasm, and look forward to the future with confidence.Mom was fortunate to live 99 years, however most people do not get that opportunity, so don’t waste it. Jesus said“love one another as I have loved you.”Mom wants us to Love our family and friends, be kind to others, enjoy life, overcome obstacles and learn from them, it helps build character. Learn to laugh at yourself, don’t take life too seriously, be open minded, forgive those who have hurt you and ask for forgiveness from those you had hurt, but most importantly give thanks to God every day and know He’s always with us and loves us deeply.
