It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilberto Basurto, age 76, who was born in Peru and made his home in Florida. Gilberto brought joy, laughter, and light wherever he went. Known for his playful sense of humor, love of music, and passion for soccer, he was truly the life of the party — always ready with a dance move, a good joke, or a delicious meal to share.

Gilberto was a man who valued family above all else. He was a loving father to Jackie, Evelyn, Jeffrey, and Gilberto Jr., and a proud grandfather to Kayla, Juan Jr., Samantha, Natalie, Jeffrey, Jaden, Jacob, and Luna. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Mateo and Lucas, who will grow up hearing stories of his warmth, humor, and kindness.

Whether cheering for his favorite soccer team, sharing a home-cooked meal, or filling a room with laughter, Gilberto made every moment brighter. His spirit and energy will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
