Goldie Bowlen Faris, 91, originally from Fairchance, PA, passed away peacefully at her home in Boca Raton, FL, on September 17, 2024. She will be remembered for her kindheart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Faris; her sons, Ronald and Scott; her son-in-law, Patrick Winch; her daughter-in-law, Richele (Manges) Faris; her parents, Ralph and Virginia (Victor) Bowlen; and her sisters, Emma Jean Bowlen, Mundana Zinna, and Connie Habrat. Goldie is survived by her six children: Chorbishop John D. Faris, Connie Winch, James (and Randi) Faris, Brian Faris, Christy (and Steve) Papp, and Shawn Faris, along with nine grandchildren. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Goldie cherished every moment spent with her family. A true embodiment of generosity, she dedicated her life to caring for her parents, her husband, and her son Shawn. Following her example, her daughter Connie lovingly cared for her with patience and warmth for many years.
A Divine Liturgy for the Faithful Departed will be celebrated at Heart of Jesus Maronite Catholic Church, 1800 NE 6th Ct, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, on October 4 at 11 am. A second Divine Liturgy will be held at Saint George Church in Uniontown, PA, on October 8 at 11 am followed by a Mercy Meal. The graveside committal will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Heart of Jesus Church, Fort Lauderdale, FL, or Saint George Church, Uniontown, PA.
