Iris Elizabeth Halat, 95, born October 13, 1929 in Shickshinny, PA and died April 28, 2025 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was the daughter of Paul Good and Jennie Hontz Good.
She attended Huntington Mills High School and Bloomsburg State Teachers College in Pennsylvania. In her younger years, she worked in her family grocery Store (Good’s General Store). She then went to work in the textile industry as a seamstress. She was a faithful Christian and attended the Huntington Mills Church of Christ and the West Broward Church of Christ in Plantation, FL. She was an avid reader. She was mathematically inclined and did income tax for many people in her community. She loved spending time with her family and friends playing games and doing puzzles. She was the glue that held the family together. She was loved and respected by many.
Surviving children are JoAnn Robbins (spouse Harry) of Shickshinny, PA and Lois Paisley (spouse Scott) of North Lauderdale, FL and Matthew Halat of Byron, GA. Also, brother, Harold Good, Clayton, NC. Predeceased was her husband, Eugene Halat and son, Mark Halat.
Funeral will be on July 5, 2025 in Scott’s Cemetery, Waterton, PA. (Time to be determined). In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Huntington Mills Church of Christ, P.O. Box 22, Huntington Mills, PA. 18622 (570) 864-2559
