Jeanne A Pascal

August 3, 1924 — August 9, 2022

Coconut Creek

Jeanne Anna Pascal was born on August 9, 1924 in Cayes Jacmel Haiti.
She was the daughter of Frankel Pascal and Angelique Merelus. Jeanne
is survived by her daughters Ketly and Francoise Lafontant, her sons
Yves-Mary Robert  Lafontant and her grand children
Ricardo Jean-Pierre, Anahima, Edward, Yves-Rony, Jennifer and
Jonathan Lafontant. In addition, she leaves to mourn her, a host of
relatives and friends.

Jeanne, often referred to as mommy or “Aya” by most, was a
housewife who lovingly cared for her children, and imparted a love of
God in them. She attended Sunday mass without fail, and instilled
strong morals not only in her own children, but everyone who spent
time in her presence. Her love was always on display and shone so
bright, it illuminated those around her. A great example of this was
how she dedicated herself, without concern of her own safety, to care
for a young Ketly who was often sick as a child. She was the soul of
both mother and father to her children.

Jeanne was extremely talented and excelled in everything that she did.
She was a phenomenal cook and it is true that many would smack their
lips when eating the delicacies which she prepared. She was skilled at

sewing, crochet and embroidery, and her handiwork was often on
display in the attire of her children.

In 1985, Jeanne left her beautiful Port-Au-Prince behind and emigrated
to Brooklyn, New York, and resided with her daughters, including the
now deceased Marie Carmel Lafontant. While in NY, her beautiful spirit
continued to touch the lives of many. She was a babysitter who had a
special art of comforting and dare I say, lovingly spoiling the children in
her care; her grandson Ricardo can attest to this as so could Natalie and
Valdir for whom she cared. It was actually Natalie who gave her the
name Aya, and ever since then, everyone called her that name.
Mommy always had an exuberant smile and a great love of people, and
never missed an opportunity to impart sage wisdom.
She loved life and had a passion for singing and dancing, and boy could
she dance.

In 2002, she was excited to move to Florida where she resided with her
daughter Ketly. She continued to attend church, and when the time
came where she could no longer physically attend, she ensured she was
present at mass from the comfort of her living room.

God blessed us with a mother who had the most beautiful spirit; and
while the pain of losing her will linger for some time, her essence and
legacy she leaves can never be erased. Jeanne was a special gift from
God. He used this beautiful soul to demonstrate His love for us, His
children. We thank God for her life and loaning her to us. We love you
mom, but God loved you more. May you rest in his eternal arms. Till
we meet again!
