Jose Israel “Gordo” Rodriguez, 72, passed away on April 16, 2026. Born on September 22, 1953, Jose lived a full and vibrant life, calling New York, Puerto Rico, and Florida home throughout the years. 

Jose was a proud business owner and a true perfectionist in the world of collision repair. He had a natural talent for fixing cars and took great pride in his work, always striving to make everything he touched just perfect. His dedication and craftsmanship earned him the respect of many in the industry.

Beyond his work, Jose embraced life with passion and joy. He loved fishing, listening to music, and dancing salsa. He enjoyed relaxing with a cold beer, watching a good action film, and traveling to new places—especially Alaska, Colombia, and his beloved Puerto Rico. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, including his favorite foods like pasteles, alcapurria, and mavi from his hometown. A perfect day for Jose often meant spending time at the beach, surrounded by sunshine and loved ones.

Jose will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and the way he brought laughter to those around him. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness.

He is survived by his loving wife and his four children, who will continue to honor his memory and carry forward his love, strength, and spirit.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jose’s life at a funeral service on April 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
