Celebrating the Life of Luis Javier Artieda
Luis Javier Artieda was born in Lima, Peru, and later made his home in South Florida, where he built a life rooted in learning, service, and deep love for his family. He proudly served as a Navy officer in the Peruvian Navy, a role that reflected his integrity, discipline, and lifelong sense of responsibility.
Luis Javier was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carlos and Clemencia, and his older brother, Chale. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Flora Artieda, with whom he shared a life full of partnership and care. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Carlos, Javier, Claudia, and Patricia; his siblings, Sergio, Gonzalo, and Alonso; his grandchildren, Carlos, Yanelle, Alia, Mariana, Garon, Gabriel, AJ, Jose, Lukey, Moniquita, Kata, Mariangeli, Isabela, Veronica, Mateo, and Joaquin; his great-grandchildren, Leo, Selah, Ignatius, Aurelia, Magdalena, Cyprian and Celestiana; his daughter-in-law, Monica; his sons-in-law, Dion and Eric; his son’s girlfriend, Gisella. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Luis Javier had a deep love of reading and learning, especially history, and he delighted in sharing ideas, stories, and thoughtful conversations. His curiosity, wisdom, and calm presence made people feel both welcomed and enriched in his company.
Above all, Luis Javier was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his gentle guidance, his stories, his quiet strength, and the way he showed up for those he loved. His infectious smile, light spirit, and love of dancing brought warmth and joy to every gathering.
Luis Javier Artieda’s legacy lives on through the generations of his family and in the many lives he touched with kindness, knowledge, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Luis's life will be honored with a series of services held at Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation in North Lauderdale, Florida. Visitation will take place on February 11, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, providing an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects and share cherished memories. A Mass will follow on February 12, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, leading to his burial at 11:15 AM.
