Madge Moo Young

Our dearest sister, Madge Moo Young transitioned to eternal life on August 21st at age 72 after a 2-year battle with cancer. She continues to watch over her beloved daughters Sharon, Suzanne, Karen; grandchildren Marc and Marissa; brothers Howard (St. Louis), Frank and Charles (Toronto); sister Gloria (New York); nephews Howard, Ken and Andrew (Toronto); and niece Judith (New York). A private funeral service will be held Saturday August 24, 9:15 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven chapel and cemetery at 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL. Madge is the last in the family’s line of shopkeepers, self-less persons, and slot-machine aficionados. She was a day and night shopkeeper after her 3 daughters were born, single mother soon after she migrated from Jamaica to south Florida, a devoted grandmother, a gracious host to family visitors, and concierge to all even as a cancer patient.
Her passing is mourned, our lives dimmed by the loss of an ever-present light. We rejoice that Madge is now with beloved sister Maria (dec’d May 2013), father Kenneth (dec'd 1973), and mother Annie (dec'd 2010).
