Magaly Derival

Magaly "Maggie" Derival was born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Suffolk University and dedicated her career to healthcare administration. She was driven by a sincere desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Later, she moved to Margate, Florida, to be with her loving family where she spent many cherished years.

Everyone who knew Maggie knew how sweet and caring she was. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel safe, valued, and understood. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart touched everyone she met. Even in difficult situations, she treated others with grace and dignity, often embracing the words of Michelle Obama: "When they go low, we go high." A woman of deep faith, Maggie regularly prayed for others during times of hardship and encouraged those around her to trust in God and His plan.

As a proud woman of Haitian descent, Maggie deeply cherished her Caribbean heritage. She loved sharing thoughtful conversations about supporting and uplifting her Haitian community and took great pride in her culture. Her love of music reflected her roots and wide-ranging interests. She enjoyed Kompa, reggae, salsa, dancehall, reggaeton, Afro Beats, African pop, and many other genres from around the world. Maggie was especially fond of Colombian singer Shakira and looked forward to watching the FIFA World Cup whenever Shakira performed.

Maggie also enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved watching cooking shows and often found inspiration in them to try new recipes in her own kitchen. Among her favorite dishes to prepare were stir-fried rice, muffins, and cookies. She also enjoyed wholesome family comedies and was an avid fan of dramas on the Lifetime and Hallmark channels.

She is survived by her daughter, Nadege Hans; her mother, Marie Agenor; her sister, Jackie Derival; Marie Rose Larose and family; Josette Calixte and family; Ica and Lesley Noel and family; and loving friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

She now joins her beloved father, Jacques G. Derival, who preceded her in death, as she enters into eternal rest with the Lord.

Maggie's legacy of kindness, faith, compassion, and pride in her Haitian heritage will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
