Marie (Hebert) MacQueen Bergeron, born May 24, 1942, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at her home and surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Bernadette Hebert and sister of her late brothers, Leo and Charles Hebert.Marie is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 30 years, Eugene “Gene” Bergeron.
Together they built a warm and loving life in Margate, Florida, where they shared countless memories. Her life and memories in Rhode Island also live on through her daughters, family, and grandchildren.
Marie leaves behind her daughters, Lisa Conrad and her husband Bobby, and Christine Sousa and her husband Tommy; and her three grandchildren, Brooke Foster and her husband Zach, Matthew Conrad and his wife Mikayla, and Angelina Sousa, who all loved her immensely and brought her immeasurable happiness. Marie was also cherished by her extended family including her sister-in-law Isabelle Tremblay; stepdaughter Monica Ennaciri and her husband Hassan and their sons young Hassan and Ramzi; stepdaughter Ronda Vashey and her son Justin; and many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom cared deeply for her.
Marie worked for many years as a beloved school bus driver known for caring deeply for the children she transported, as well as a school crossing guard, a job she truly loved. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Margate, Florida.
A devoted Catholic, Marie lived her faith with sincerity and compassion. She was a beautiful woman inside and out—kind, generous, and always ready to help anyone in need. Her sense of humor lit up every room, and her warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She loved her family deeply and was loved by so many in return.
Marie was also a passionate supporter of the ASPCA, caring deeply for animals and making frequent donations to “her animals,” as she lovingly called them.Her legacy of compassion, laughter, faith, and love will live on in all who knew her.
