Marie Ghislaine Dubuisson

December 11, 1938 — October 26, 2021

Marie Ghislaine Dubuisson, nee Brun, affectionally known as “Mant” or “Manmie Ghislaine”,
passed away peacefully in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the age of 82 on October 26, 2021.
Ghislaine was born in Port-au-Price, Haiti, on December 11, 1938. She was the ninth of ten
children born to Nicolas Brun and Vesta “Da” Magloire Brun.

She married Sauveur-Andre Dubuisson on December 1962 and settled in Impasse Bellevue, Rue
Capois. They would have celebrated their 59 th wedding anniversary in December 2021.
In 1970, Ghislaine moved to Boston with her husband but she would not reside there for long. In
the mid 1970’s, she moved back to Haiti and stayed in Haiti during the school year and spent
summer vacations in the US. She always thought that Haiti was the best place to raise a family.
In late 1970’s, her husband relocated to Miami where she joined him with the children several
years later. After a year, again Ghislaine decided to move back with her youngest daughter,
believing the education system in Haiti was better.

While in the Impasse Bellevue house, she welcomed and raised countless nieces and nephews,
and always had a house full of children. She loved to entertain and feed all who came by.
Carnival season was special for her she would welcome friends and family who would come
over her house to enjoy the festivities on the Champ de Mars.
Ghislaine was a strong and hardworking woman who tackled many projects. She continued
working while raising a family and managing a small business.
She was the definition of elegance and carried herself with class. She took pleasure in looking
and dressing good for all occasions.

She loved being a grandmother and enjoyed babysitting her grandnieces and nephews. Although
Haiti had a special place to her heart, she would return to the United States to spend more time
with her grandchildren. Her passion was cooking and preparing fresh, natural food.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, godmother, aunt, and friend and touched
the lives of so many people.

Loved by all, “Mant Ghislaine” will be greatly missed. Ghislaine is survived by her husband,
Sauveur-Andre Dubuisson; by her children, Ketsia Dubuisson, Stanley Dubuisson, Fabiola
Dubuisson; her sons-in-law, Pradel Denis and Pierre Moise Bazile; her daughter-in-law, Beatrix
