In Loving Memory of Michael Nicholas Lanza:
Michael Nicholas Lanza, born September 17, 1942, in Port Chester, New York, passed away on February 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and the legacy of a life well lived. He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Mildred Lanza, and his older brother, Salvatore Lanza. Growing up in Port Chester, Michael was deeply rooted in the close-knit Lanza and Morlino family households — bonds that helped shape the strong sense of loyalty and devotion he carried throughout his life.
In the spring of 1968, Michael was inducted into the United States Marine Corps; in the autumn of that same year, he was deployed to Vietnam. He served honorably as a Private, then Lance Corporal, and later as Personal Body Guard and Assistant to the Chaplain of his Platoon. His courage and dedication during his military service reflected the strength of character that defined him. He returned home on Christmas Day in 1970, and in October 1971 he married Nancy M. Budd. Soon after, they moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer Michelle Lanza.
He began an extensive and celebrated softball career in 1972. Competing in and winning Regional, State, National and World tournaments, he earned the nickname “Looch.” More than his athletic achievements, he was known for giving 100% effort in every game and for being one of the best teammates anyone could hope for.
In 1981, Michael met Pamela Anne McMahon. Together they built a loving family and shared two children, Danielle Marissa Lanza and Michael Salvatore Lanza. Michael was a devoted father, a steady presence, and a constant source of encouragement and strength. His passion for sports extended beyond his own playing days, as he later coached his two younger children in baseball, softball, and football throughout their youth and high school years.
Michael built a successful sales career in South Florida beginning in the 1980s, working with Louie’s Spaghetti Sauce, Michelina’s, and T-Shirts of Florida. In 1987, alongside his business partner Jerry Yanotta, he co-founded Trendwear Sales Corporation. For over 25 years, Michael and Jerry poured their hearts and souls into building a thriving and respected company, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering work ethic.
He and Pamela remained in Fort Lauderdale until 2019, when they relocated to Palm Coast, Florida, where they continued to enjoy family, friendship, and the life they had built together.
Michael will be remembered as a proud veteran, dedicated businessman, passionate athlete, beloved coach, and devoted family man. His loyalty, determination, humor, generous spirit, and even the endearing clumsiness he inherited from his beloved mom ("Mamma Millie"), will leave a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
