Norval Nelson

Mr. Norval Valentine Nelson was born on February 16, 1948 to Alexander and Gwendolyn Nelson in the town of St. Ann in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Norval departed this life on June 10, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Norval was a very hard worker and inspired family and friends to work hard to fulfill their dreams. Family was very important to Norval and he made sure he provided love and support to his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. He would travel near and far to be there to support in every way he could. He enjoyed coordinating the family reunions in Jamaica and participating in family fun gatherings in Florida. He also enjoyed politics, watching England Cricket games and traveling back home to Jamaica.

Norval was a man of honor and lived his life to the fullest. His dedication to his friends and family was unmatched, and they will cherish the fond memories they shared with him forever.

Family and friends have lost an amazing man who had a great sense of humor that could light up any room he entered. Norval's infectious energy inspired everyone he met to think positively and be kind. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people and left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

Norval leaves to cherish wonderful memories, a wife Maxine, his son Norman, two daughters Tracey and Ashley, five grandchildren, Breia, Brendyn, Aaron, Brooklynne, and Brisa, two brothers Stennett (Roy) and Nathan, two sisters Clover and Ivet and a host of nieces and nephews, family, friends and patients. 

Norval's impact reached far beyond just his family and friends; he will be missed by all acquaintances he made during his life journey.

May Norval’s soul rest in eternal peace knowing that he touched so many people’s lives with joyous memories that will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held for Norval at Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation in North Lauderdale on July 1st, from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 A.M.
