Oldinia Nelson

Oldinia Yolanda San Martin Sepulveda Nelson, born on September 10, 1934, in Concepción, Chile, passed away at her home on April 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. A devoted Roman Catholic, Oldinia lived her life guided by faith, love, and compassion, finding comfort and strength in prayer throughout her life.

Oldinia began her journey in the United States in New York City, where she joined her third child, Jeannette Harris, and her grandchildren, Christian and Ellen. She later traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa, to spend time with her second child, Patty Croonquist, and her grandchildren, Jenny and Nicholas. Over the years, she became a constant and reliable source of love and support to all her grandchildren, always present with encouragement, wisdom, and care.

She was known as one of the friendliest people you could ever meet, effortlessly making connections wherever she went—from the checkout lines at Publix and Walgreens to the aisles of Macy’s—often while finding the best bargains. Oldinia had a wonderful sense of style and a deep love for shopping and traveling.

Her life was centered around family, friendships, and faith. She cherished time spent with loved ones, sharing stories of her childhood in Chile and creating lasting memories with her children and grandchildren. She remained deeply rooted in her Catholic traditions, finding peace in prayer and strength in her faith in God’s grace. Her daughters, Patty and Mitzi, lovingly cared for her daily needs and ensured everything was always in order. Jeannette shared many adventures with her, traveling together on Caribbean cruises and exploring destinations across Europe and Chile. With her son, Roberto, she shared a love of food and cooking, and in her final months, he supported her with doctor visits and medical care.

Oldinia lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Luis Nelson Christiansen. She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Roberto; Patty; Jeannette and her husband, John; and Mitzi. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian, Ebony, John, Ellen, Jessica, Cassandra, Jenny, and Nicholas; her great-grandchildren, Nalani, Amani, Christian Jr., Varyk, Evey, Dakota, Joey, Julia, Nicholas, Jack, and Harmony; and her great-great-grandchild, Josie.

Católica devota, Oldinia vivió su vida guiada por la fe, el amor y la compasión, encontrando consuelo y fortaleza en la oración a lo largo de toda su vida.

Oldinia inició su vida en Estados Unidos en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde se reunió con su tercera hija, Jeannette Harris, y sus nietos, Christian, Ebony y Ellen. Más adelante viajó a Fort Dodge, Iowa, para compartir con su segunda hija, Patty Croonquist, y sus nietos, Jenny y Nicholas. Con los años, se convirtió en un pilar constante y confiable de amor y apoyo para todos sus nietos, estando siempre presente con ánimo, sabiduría y dedicación.

Siempre se mantuvo firme en sus tradiciones católicas, encontrando paz en la oración y fortaleza en su fe en la gracia de Dios. Sus hijas, Patty y Mitzi, la cuidaron con amor en sus necesidades diarias, procurando que todo estuviera siempre en orden. Jeannette compartió muchas aventuras con ella, viajando juntas en cruceros por el Caribe y recorriendo distintos destinos en Europa y Chile. Con su hijo Roberto compartía el amor por la comida y la cocina, y en sus últimos meses él la acompañó en visitas médicas y en su cuidado de salud.

Oldinia vivió una vida plena y llena de alegría, dejando una huella en el corazón de todos quienes la conocieron. Nos consuela saber que hoy descansa en paz en la presencia del Señor, reunida con sus seres queridos que partieron antes que ella. Será profundamente extrañada y recordada por siempre.

Fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo, Roberto Luis Nelson Christiansen. Le sobreviven sus cuatro hijos: Roberto; Patty; Jeannette y su esposo, John; y Mitzi. Asimismo, le sobreviven sus nietos, Christian, John, Ellen, Jessica, Cassandra, Jenny y Nicholas; sus bisnietos, Nalani, Amani, Christian Jr., Varyk, Evey, Dakota, Joey, Julia, Nicholas, Jack y Harmony; y su tataranieta, Josie.
