Rene Antonio Irizarry, a brilliant and devoted son, brother, nephew, and friend, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 31.
Rene was born on December 1, 1994, in the Bronx, New York, to Vivian Sostre and Rene Irizarry Jr. Born with a medical condition, Rene spent his life redefining what was possible. He never accepted his condition as an impairment, nor did he ever complain or use his physical limitations as an excuse. He met every circumstance head-on, proving that a warrior's true strength lies in their spirit.
Vivian welcomed Rene into the world when she was just fifteen years old, and four years later, his brother Austin was born. Together, the three of them built a life centered on resilience and deep, mutual devotion. Their bond was unbreakable, defined by the guiding truth: "Donde está uno, estaban los tres" (Where there was one, there were three.) Rene played an essential role in the woman his mother became, and alongside Austin, they faced the world as a united front of love.
Rene was a beautiful human being, remarkably smart, respectful, and honest. A man of many talents, he was a gifted investor and a lifelong learner. Whether he was building computers, immersed in Anime, lost in a book, or mastering board games, he approached his passions with the same focus and determination that defined his character. He always gave his absolute best, and his intelligence was matched only by his kindness.
Rene was the heart of his family, as he taught those around him that life is truly about the people we love. He is survived by his mother, Vivian; his brother and lifelong partner in adventure, Austin; his sister, Justine; and his father, Kiro. After his final battle in the hospital, Rene will be returning to the sanctuary he loved most, his home. He’ll finally be at rest, leaving behind a legacy of strength that will never be forgotten.
