Theresa Mary Backer

Theresa found peace and returned to her heavenly home on June 23rd, 2026 . Theresa was born in Queens, NY on July 13th, 1959 to mother, Gloria Warwick and father, Lawrence Brennan. She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved brothers, Thomas and Kevin Brennan and her husband, Ronald Backer. Theresa is survived by her cherished son, Brandon Backer and her brothers Larry and James Brennan. Theresa was a step mother to Ronald's four boys, Daniel, Kyle, Todd and Kevin Backer. Her pride in being a mother always shined through, and her love for her son, Brandon, was truly inspiring.

To know Theresa, was to know she was a devout woman of faith and an active member of the Catholic Church her entire life. Most recently an active member of St. Malachy Church, in Tamarac, FL, where she was a leading member of St.Vincent De Paul and the parish's Food Pantry. It was her life's mission to bring charity and hope to those who were going through hard times. She was a constant reflection of the love of Jesus. Theresa was also a part of Deliver the Dream, where she volunteered to spend weeks with children who needed hope in the face of terminal illness. Truly a woman who loved to be the hands and feet of her Savior. If she ever met you, I can promise that you were in her prayers and nightly Rosary. Her hope for future Glory is realized and she would want us all to hold on to scriptures like Romans 8:18 "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us".
