Wanda P. Thornton

December 12, 1932 — July 14, 2022

Wanda, a mom, a grandmother, great grandmother and friend was one of a kind. She was born and raised near St Louis, Missouri and lived with her parents Everett, Myrtle Parker, brother and sister. Wanda lost her first husband to the war and later remarried William Thornton, they had 3 beautiful children Gwendolyn, Danny and Dwayne. They moved to Miami, FL from Missouri when their oldest child Gwen was a toddler. Wanda worked for the city government as a clerk and assistant to a commissioner and also worked and volunteered in the healthcare industry at hospitals. She was a woman of faith in the catholic church and she went to church religiously on Sundays and even sang in the choir. She did a great deal of traveling around the world which showed her independence, strength and love for life. Wanda was always there for friends and family and was a beautiful lady with a beautiful soul. In her retired years Wanda dedicated her time to her family, church, living on the beach, donating to multiple charities and her love for movies, music and the theater. She was a hard working, humble and kind woman who will be deeply missed by her family each and every day.
